Action Comics is a comic book series featuring Superman. It is especially notable since it is the original comic book in which Superman made his debut in 1938. The series has run continuously since that time, and has reached 974 issues as of February 2017.

1938 to 40s[]
1950s and 60s[]
1970s to 1986[]
1986 to 1990s: The Post-Crisis adventures[]
From 1988 to 1989, Action Comics became Action Comics Weekly, switching to weekly format and including multiple stories of multiple superheroes.
2009: New Krypton[]
As a result of the New Krypton storyline, Superman has left Earth. The series followed the characters of Nightwing and Flamebird take center stage.
2010: Lex Luthor's Action Comics[]
In the wake of Blackest Night, Lex Luthor became the principal character of Action Comics, rather than Superman himself, who is walking across america in the Superman comic series.
It also featured a backup story featuring Superboy, and later one featuring Jimmy Olsen, in which Chloe Sullivan made her first full appearance in the Comics Continuity.
