Deadman is a superhero and a member of Justice League Dark, along with Zatana, John Constantine, and Swamp Thing.

Deadman encountered the ghost of Supergirl during a lonely Christmas night, though he was suspicious of her at first, as she just appeared to be a mysterious woman who could somehow see him, he quickly warmed up to her as she treated him kindly, eventually reviving his vigor for being a superhero.
