It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman was originally released in 1966, as the original cast album to the Broadway musical. It was written by Lee Adams and Charles Strouse, best known for "Bye Bye Birdie". While the show was ultimately a flop, this cast album became a fascinating footnote in the long career of Superman, and the cult status of the show resulted in its being reissued on CD, for future generations to enjoy.
