Metropolis is a defunct live-action TV series based on the city of Metropolis.[1] Originally set to debut exclusively on the DC Universe streaming service, the show was given a straight-to-series order by Warner Bros. Television for a 2019 release,[2] but was later pushed into redevelopment in favor of Swamp Thing.[3] On April 2019, it was reported that the show had been cancelled.[4]

Plot[]

Set in the titular City of Tomorrow before the arrival of Superman, Metropolis would've followed Lois Lane and Lex Luthor as they investigate the world of fringe science and expose the city’s dark and bizarre secrets.[1]

In January 2018, Gotham executive producers John Stephens and Danny Cannon and Warner Bros. TV announced that they're developing a prequel TV series titled Metropolis that will focus on Lois Lane and Lex Luthor that will premiere on DC Universe in 2019.[1] On April 2019, it was reported that the show had been cancelled.[5]
