Professor Timothy T. Twiddle was a brilliant but absent-minded scientist who served as a friend and ally of Superman/Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen and Poco in The Adventures of Superman radio series and television series.
Professor Twiddle was a very eccentric and absent-minded scientist who was regarded as a crackpot by many who met him, even by his own pessimistic assistant Gloomy Gus, but in truth, Prof. Twiddle was indeed a genius whose achievements were often overshadowed by his odd social quirks, short-temper, indecisiveness and erratic manner of speech, leading many to underestimate his brilliance, a fact which would annoy him greatly, especially when called a 'crackpot'. However, Prof. Twiddle did have his share of enemies and rivals within the scientific community who were indeed aware of his genius and did their best to sabotage him if they could get away with it.
Among his achievements were building a unique space rocket capable of traveling to the moon on radar waves and developing a somewhat working method of time travel. Professor Twiddle was also, as far as he knew, the first to discover a race of primitive monkey-like creatures dwelling underground on the dark side of the moon along with several other beasts which he personally named and classified.

Notes[]
- Professor Pepperwinkle was another eccentric but less erratic zany scientist and ally of Superman and Jimmy who also made regular appearances in the radio show and TV show.
- Though Professor Twiddle seemingly never made it into the comics, he did receive something of a parallel in the form of Professor Potter.
