Superman is an upcoming movie set for release in 2025. Focusing on the titular Superman, it is the first theatrically-released feature film set in the rebooted DC Universe.

Before filming, the movie was referred to as Superman: Legacy. Director James Gunn explained the name change in a post on Threads:

“When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN. Making our way to you July 2025.”
