Superman is the hero of Metropolis. He's the last son of Krypton. He was born Kal-El, and when his parents Jor-El and Lara realized that his planet was doomed, they sent their son to Earth, where he would be found by Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent and given the name Clark Jerome Kent, but upon growing up and discovering the powers he gained from Earth's yellow sun, he would use his powers for good, and the world would know him, as Superman.

He works as a reporter at the Daily Planet under his secret identity of Clark Kent and becomes one of its best news writers.

He also develops a friendship, relationship and later marriage to fellow reporter Lois Lane and has several fierce battles with his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor and other criminals.

Many people find out Superman's true identity, but with the exception of Lois, Jonathan and Martha Kent, H.G Wells, Jonathan's friend Wayne Irig and four villains (Diana Stride, Jason Mazik, Tempus and Mr. Mxyzptlk), all of them either die or have their memory erased.

He has been portrayed by Dean Cain in the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
