Info parking[]

Some info from Billboard, as I continue to gradually research the radio series and, especially, try to ID the episodic actors. A Sept. 12, 1942 column on "Radio Talent," basically the equivalent of Variety mentioning who has been signed to what, identifies two radio vets, but in a vague way that I'm still researching. One is solid, but not as to what story: Madeline Lee (at the time a semi-regular on Amos n' Andy as secretary Miss Blue), who also played baby cries and child roles, was "selected competitively to portray Superman as a baby." This tallies with the log, since the episodes beginning in August 31, 1942, as the series moved to Mutual, retold Superman's origins and childhood, so I'll definitely create a page for her and note this where apppropriate (when tracking "Baby Kal El" performers in other media) later.

The other is vaguer: It says that Peter Donald (comedian on Can You Top This?, later a regular on Fred Allen's show as Ajax Cassidy) had been "assigned a dramatic role in the new Superman serial." That would *seem* to be "The Wolfe," likely either a reworking of or a continuation of the earlier stories with the villainous Wolf (no idea why logs list it with an "e"). Only two fragments survive on Archive.org, so pending scripts surfacing, may not be able to piece together (on dramatic kids adventure shows, like Terry and the Pirates, Donald often played either "ethnic" roles or sometimes villains, and either seems likely in this storyline). More as/if I find it, but this is one of those things I'll forget if I don't park. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 21:23, September 9, 2012 (UTC)

Who wrote the radio plays?[]

Is there anyplace that records who wrote what on Adventures of Superman? Or even who the writers were in general? -Derik (talk) 03:50, November 27, 2014 (UTC)
